Here is a break down of my nutrition/hydration from the 26 mile paddle I did yesterday. In the picture below, waist camel back with tons of plain of water, plain cooked pasta, in the foil is sticky rice (sushi rice with a bit of rice vinegar and honey and bits of ham- crusted with PEAHI SURF SALT) worked great-recipe/video to come – flask of hammer gel, apple, coconut water, bananas, clif bar, hammer perpetuem, and picked up some G2. Now the yellow stuff in the zip lock bag is the best thing ever if you cramp up. Good old French's Mustard. Not…pardon me, do you have any…just yellow mustard. All the sodium and vinegar will begin helping as soon as you choke down the stuff. Learned this trick for some mtn. bike buddies who do the 24 hour races. So next time you find yourself in a fast food joint (which is hopefully VERY rarely!) Grab a hand full of mustard packets and go long!
